Ode to a Fridge

Was feeling a little blue… my first ever appliance purchase died. I was on a tight budget when I bought the house and had to look for coupons and sales to get through the list. Learned after the fact that Samsung is notoriously terrible, but I scored a deal at an outlet that made it worthwhile. For twelve years;

Samsung saw parties and booze. Snacks, desserts, full holiday spreads. Those doors have been yanked and slammed by many friends and family.

The middle drawer conveniently stored dog food, sodas and beer – evident in the blackened plastic from so. many. cans!

That bottom freezer drawer was a headache until I found an ocd method of organization that allowed a divider to section frozen dog treats from bf treats. Even had a tray for all the ice packs we’ve required to keep the four of us ambulatory.

Just the front, a welcoming place with magnets securing friendly faces, appointment reminders and detailed notes on the status of Brick’s colon. So many memories tied to a bucket of bolts and isobutane… immediately forgotten when the delivery guy called me “Miss” and carried it out without a dolly.

    That is the cleanest 12-year-old dead refrigerator I have ever seen. Gone but never forgotten RIP Samsung. I can’t wait to hear about what new refrigerator you got Miss!
