Airbnb Review

This house was amazing and our mini vacation started off normal but then we decided to put our cell phones away and go play in the game room! There was so much to do, we almost couldn’t decide but then we heard this faint – it sounded like a tribal drum – and while poking around looking for the source we stumbled onto this really cool dice game. I don’t know much about antiques, but given the construction and craftsmanship, if it weren’t for the lcd display in the center, I’d think the game was over 100 years old!

When you rolled the dice, your piece would move by itself and then cryptic riddles would appear on the display. I’m sure it was a coincidence, or maybe power of suggestion, but on my first roll the display read “A tiny bite can make you itch, make you sneeze, make you twitch,” and moments later we were completely swarmed by mosquitos! As we continued, we got hit with monkeys and weird vining plants, but my boyfriend and I were so into it!

We were momentarily startled when this homeless guy named Alan just kind of popped in, he kept demanding to know what year it was. We were thinking he might’ve been a little Rip Van Drinkle, but maybe he’s a neighbor or family friend. Aside from smelling like he hadn’t had a shower in 26 years, he seemed harmless. The house had a washer and dryer, I would have gladly helped him clean up but no sooner had he popped in and he ran out again saying he had to find Sarah. I guess that could have been a little freaky, but we’re from California and ranting homeless people are pretty every day for us.

The property owners do have a giant cat that lives upstairs, for a minute I thought it was an actual lion – but it was probably the extreme peacefulness – my brain finally got a break from the 9-5 chaos and just went into imagination overdrive. Just in case, I did close the door though so Mr. Kitty didn’t wander off in traffic.

I wish we’d planned to stay longer, it appears they have hunting in the area – of course I’ll have to research laws and do it legally, but as we were driving away we saw a man just marching down the street in a safari hat carrying, what looked like, an elephant gun! Not sure if he’s a local or maybe also a tourist?

In summary I found our entire stay to be just so exciting! And the house was perfectly accommodating! Absolutely 5/5 stars! We will be back (though probably not with elephant guns (unless it’s legal))
